Bug's 18 month stats!

On Thursday February 3, Buggy went for her 18 month check up. We got hit with an ice storm so her appointment on Feb 1 was cancelled. I was not happy about it because Bug had been sick with a cold for a week at this point. Thick, nasty, green snot that benedryl was not drying up at all. I had to go get a NoseFrida from Whole Foods so I could literally suck the snot out because the bulb aspirator wasn't cutting. She was so miserable.

Fast forward to Monday January 31. She wakes up with a hoarse voice and a terrible cough. I wanted to take her to the doctor that day but since she had her 18 month check up the next day we toughed it out. Wake up Tuesday morning to a call from the peds office calling to reschedule because they are closing for the day because of the ice storm that had started. We rescheduled for Thursday morning. We survived Tuesday but Wednesday was awful. I just knew she had an ear infection (her first one!) and she was just miserable. Her peds office was closed again on Wednesday so I called Urgent Care and they were closed too. My poor baby had to wait yet another day to see the doctor. Wednesday night Bug was up all night. She couldn't lay down to sleep. She didn't even want to take a bath! That's when you know she is really not feeling well.

We finally got in to see Dr. Freeman and Raegan SCREAMED the entire time. This was not my child! She never cries or acts like this. Yes, she is shy but she does not have stranger anxiety like this. Which the doctor said was normal for her to be acting like that at 18 months. No, not my child. She wouldn't lay down to get weighed or measured. It took 3 of us to hold her down. Her ears hurt so bad that it was killing her to lay down. The doctor tried looking in her ears but Raegan was screaming and flailing and she couldn't get a good look. Dr. Freeman thinks she *might* of had a slight ear infection but thinks it was more of a teething issue than ear issue. I disagree. But she went ahead and prescribed her amoxicillian just in case there was a slight ear infection in her right ear.

Within 48-72 hours she was almost 100% better. I for sure think she had her first ear infection. Not bad for being 18 months! Gotta give props to breastfeeding for 15 months for that one! Woo!

So now for the stats:
07/30/09- birth- 6lbs 13oz - 20 1/2"
08/01/09- 2 days- 6 lbs 11oz
08/06/09- 1 week- 7lbs 6oz
08/12/09- 2 weeks- 8lbs 4oz- 20 1/2"
09/01/09- 1 month- 10lbs 5oz- 22 1/4"
09/30/09- 2 months- 12lbs 6oz- 23 1/2"
12/01/09- 4 months- 14lbs 13oz- 25 1/4"
02/01/10- 6 months- 17 lbs 1oz- 26 3/4"
05/03/10- 9 months- 18lbs 8oz- 29"
08/03/10- 12 months- 21 lbs 1oz- 31"
11/01/10- 15 months- 22lbs- 32 1/4"
02/03/11- 18 months- 23lbs 10oz- 32 1/2"

Even though her growth has seriously slowed down (finally!) She is still in the 97th percentile for height! She obviously gets that from her daddy! And she is in the 20th percentile for weight. Long and lean! Lucky girl! She has always had a tiny little head in the 25th percentile!

Looking back at that it is crazy how fast they grow. Growing almost 2 inches in 2 months! Wow! And my breastmilk must have been whole milk bc she only lost 2oz in the hospital and was up almost half a pound by one week which is very rare in breastfeeding.

The only good thing about her growth slowing down is now she can wear clothes for longer than 2 or 3 months! Woohoo!

Big News!

And no I am not pregnant!

An anonymous family member just won a huge amount of money from a Casino last weekend. They have had two lucky weekends winning in a row. I am so happy for them and it could not have happened to a better and more deserving person. They are able to pay off all their debt and student loans which is huge for them. And they are still going to work since they love their jobs!

Hmmm this reminds me, I need to buy a powerball ticket for tonights drawing! Maybe I can get some of that luck!

Raegan's words! Updated!

It has been about 2 months since the last time I updated Bug's vocab list. This girl loves to talk. She will repeat pretty much EVERYTHING you say! And it amazes me that she is putting words together and making little sentences. You can almost carry on a conversation with her.

So far we haven't had any major tantrums and I think a big part of that is how well she can communicate what she wants and needs and I can understand her. Her pediatrician was blown away at her verbal communication at her 18 month appointment. I will talk about that appointment later. I don't have her stats in front of me right now. Dr. Freeman said by 18 months most children should be saying 3-5 words regularly. What? Really? We are around 75 words that I have remembered to write down.

Her new words over the last 2 months are: fishy, poop, potty, Cooper, hot dog, purple, Gymbo, Hahaj, kick, Thank You, Please, I don't know, Where'd he go?, I know, I'm pretty, goat, horse, Mooo, Go, Red, pull, apple, Emmie, Brandi, cheese, teeth, cuckoo, rock, eat, baaaa, pizza, fives, cheers, Kaylie, Pete, Daisy, foot, feet, nose, mouth, color.

It is so cute, she says her pleases and thank you's all the time. She loves making animal noises and can point and pick out fish, goats, horses, cows, cats, dogs, ducks ect out of a book. She will say bye to daddy when he leaves in the mornings and then after she watches him drive away she says "Where'd he go?"

Her babysitter and my bff Brandi has a bulldog named Emmie and Raegan became obsessed with her last week. She talks about Emmie all the time. Which I love except it sounds like she is saying "Amy" which I don't love!

Raegan's favorite show and well pretty much the only TV she pays attention to is Mickey Mouse Clubhouse! She usually calls it "Hot Dog" since they do the hot dog dance at the end of the episodes. Her favorite episode is called "Adventures in Wonderland" and it is a spinoff of Alice and Wonderland. There is a cuckoo clock in it and she LOVES IT! She talks about cuckoo and Pete the cat all the time. She will put her hands out and say "come here cuckoo!" Just like Mickey and Donald do!

As soon as I upload the video of her pointing out objects in a book I will add it!

Party Hearty Zumbathon!

Brandi and I before the Party!

On Saturday February 19 my zumba class did a 90 minute Party Hearty Go Red Zumbathon to benefit the American Heart Association. We raised over $1500 and it was so much fun! There wasn't as much toning so it wasn't as hard as I was thinking it would be. But I was still sore!

I love this hip hop Zumba class! I have lost about 4 lbs in 7 weeks. I go to class 3-4 days a week. Woohoo!

Tricia's Baby Shower!

February 12 I hosted a baby shower for my sister with two of her friends. We all met at Houlihans for lunch and then came back to our house for cupcakes, presents and we all made scrapbook pages for a scrapbook for Baby Riveire.

Tricia was easy to host for since she didn't want her shower puking baby shower and pink so it was very simple and more of just a get together.

Raegan made her own page. It was for the babys first birthday!

The day before the shower Jon surprised Tricia and took her to Castleton Ultrasound for a 4d ultrasound. Jon had told me about it so Raegan and I went and got to see baby girl! She is so cute! She has the chubbiest little cheeks and she kept sticking her tongue out and you could even see her blink. It was amazing and gave me big time baby fever! Can't wait until she is here! Any day now!

Happy Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day!

Ryan and I don't really celebrate V-day. He tells me everyday that he loves me, a lot of weekends we have a nice date night at home with steak and wine and a movie once Raegan goes to bed. He buys "just because its Friday" flowers. So I don't need overpriced roses on February 14 and well I don't like chocolates.

Once Raegan went to bed we made dinner together. Grilled steaks that had been marinating for over 24 hours, delicious twice baked potatoes, cesar salad and of course yummy wine! And for dessert we had raspberry sherbet!

I got three of the sweetest and most amazing cards ever from my grandma, wonderful husband and beautiful daughter. I feel so blessed to have them in my life. They are my everything.

CHEESE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finally painted the downstairs

Ever since we moved into this house in 2009, Ryan has hated how white the walls are. We have nice white baseboards but they don't "pop" with the white walls. So finally over the past couple of weeks we redecorated the downstairs living room. Our kitchen is a "burnt lime" with a light yellow sunroom. But our two living rooms were white with deep, dark red accent walls and dark hardwood floors. We finally painted the walls "bleached wheat" and got rid of the red from the back living room and extended the green from the kitchen into the living room. The front living room still has red for now.

It looks so much bigger and brighter. We love it. Finally! It is so warm and comfortable now! Now we just need to get some new decorations. The wine picture in the kitchen no longer fits with the green walls and we are accenting the living room with navy blue.
