Here it comes!

So one of Ryan and I's highlights of vacation was Raegan playing in the ocean! She was so scared of ocean at first and she hated the sand on day 1. But she quickly warmed up and it was hard to get her away from it. She would stand in the ocean and everytime a wave would come she would yell "HERE IT COMES!" It was so cute and we couldn't get enough of it.

By the end of vacation Bug also was jumping in the pool and going under water. Ryan and I are looking to start her in swim lessons since she had so much fun in the pool.

I'm ready to go back to the beach just to hear the sweet, little, innocent voice yelling at the waves and warning everyone, "Here it comes!"

Airplanes!

We got to the airport Saturday morning and got all check in and through security without a problem. It was so nice that the airport had a separate line for those with kids. We didn't have to wait and got through quick and easy! We had about a 45 minute wait until we had to board. Raegan just stood at the window and watched all the planes! She LOVES airplanes.

As soon as we took off Bug was sound asleep. She slept the entire flight to Charlotte even through the landing. We had to wake her up as we were getting off the plane. We had a short layover and then hopped on our next flight to New Burn! Bug stayed awake but did great on the quick 45 minute flight. We landed in New Burn got our rental cars and headed to the beach!

We stopped at Walmart for a few things on the way and then got to our house. We all ran in as fast as we could to pick our rooms. Saturday night we got delicious Big Oak BBQ and decided the pool was freezing and that we would spend the $620 to heat the pool!

Sunday and Monday we woke up to an amazingly beautiful site of tons of dolphins swimming and jumping right out in front of our house and so close to the shore. It was perfect.

We spent the mornings in the pool until lunch time, then the kids took naps and we got to lay out and nap. For dinner the family all took turns cooking for everyone.

On Wednesday the guys surprised us with a day at the spa. We got massages and facials! Then on Thursday the guys spent the morning deep sea fishing and caught over 50 fish. They got to keep 49 spanish mackerels. They spent Thursday night trying to figure out how to cook them. First they grilled them then they decided to fry them. I went and got more North Carolina BBQ and by the time I got home they had ordered pizza.

Friday morning was kind of rainy and cloudy so we took Bug to the Pine Knoll Shores Aquarium and she had a blast looking at all the fishys. We then went to visit my Aunt Karen. By the time we got back the sun was shining and the beach was calling my name! We went out to dinner Friday night to Clawsons in Beaufort then started getting ready for the trip home.

We left for the airport at 830am Saturday, returned the rental cars, got checked in and through security easy again and then boarded our plane. Gotta love the tiny, little, New Burn airport! Raegan was unimpressed with the airport though because there are no other airplanes to watch. Just the one that lands so you can then board and take off!

Thankfully she stayed awake on the short flight to Charlotte, we were delayed on the runway after we landed so once we got off the plane we had to run to our next gate because boarding had already begun. We boarded and Bug fell asleep and slept the whole way to Indy.

As much as I love vacation it was so nice to get home and get back to our routine and our family of 3.

Back from vacation!

We need to win the lottery so we can live at the beach and not have to work! Our week in North Carolina was great and it went by too fast. I have spent almost every summer as a child at Atlantic Beach. Ryan and I were married there and we hope to continue the tradition of going there every summer with our kids!

Thursday before we left for vacation Raegan and I got up and ran to TJ Maxx to get her some new bibs and look for a new bikini for me. Score we found both for super cheap! While we were there she just sat in her stroller so quiet and not looking too good. I noticed she was very warm. We checked out and got in the car. She was asleep before we were out of the parking lot. We got home and she just laid on the couch and didn't move or say a word for 2 hours. She was so lethargic and had a temp of 102. I got her in to see her pedi that afternoon. Normally I would wait it out and see if she improved at all but since everyone was coming to our house to stay Friday night before we left, I didn't want to take the chance if she had an ear infection or strep.

The pedi said she had a virus and just to keep her hydrated. She hadn't eaten or drank anything for over 24 hours at that point. So we went to the store and got her popcycles and pedialite. Immediately after having a popcycle she did a complete 180 and was playing outside for a while. By the time bedtime rolled around her temp was back over 102. She slept great and woke up Friday morning perfectly fine.

Everyone got to our house Friday night and we had dinner and played games and hung out. All the kids were crazy and wouldn't go to bed. Raegan went to bed at 8 and slept til about 9 and then woke up screaming. It was so weird every time she put something in her mouth, especially water, she would scream and scream and scream. I could not figure out what was wrong. I was still thinking strep or even maybe a chipped tooth. I finally gave her some tylenol and benedryl and she fell back asleep around 10. The other kids were still wired, going crazy! Ryan and I slept on the floor in Bug's room so his parents could have our room. We were all up by 5am. The limo arrived at 5:45am and off to the airport we went.
