Rough week for the Hahaj's...

Last Tuesday I woke up just before 6am with a lot of pain in my right breast. I felt very engorged, I tossed and turned for an hour but could't get comfortable. I got up and pumped and got my usual amount but it didn't relieve the pain. I just thought it was maybe a clogged duct. I got Raegan ready for school, dropped her off, came home and pumped again. Once again pumped my usual amount and it still didn't help the pain and I could not feel a clogged ducted but the whole under side was a little hard. If it was a clogged duct it was the biggest one I have ever had. As the day went on I started getting chills and a headache and started feeling very run down. I mentioned to Ryan I thought that maybe I had mastitis. After I picked R up from school I looked in the mirror and yep I had mastitis. I called my OB to get a script called in and of course he wasn't in so it took forever for the nurse to get it called it. I spent the afternoon in bed while Raegan destroyed the house and Baylor napped. I mean destroyed, she spilt a half gallon of milk then tried to clean it up with a whole roll of paper towels. At least she tried.

She was not listening and I felt like death. My whole body hurt, especially my back and hips. I had a 101+ fever, my head was killing me, and I was so nauseous. Ryan was going to pick up my Rx from Target on his way home and of course he got out of a meeting late and traffic was bad. I was trying to get dinner started and then started puking. I fed the kids and went back to bed until Ryan got home.

Wednesday I felt better but my back and hips still really hurt. Baylor and Raegan both had a cough for almost a week now, on and off fevers and a little runny noses. Baylor's cough was just terrible, he had a rattle in his chest and was starting to sound a little wheezy. So after ballet I took Baylor to the doctor. He had a double ear infection but thankfully his lungs sounded clear. Raegan said her left ear was popping and hurt and sure enough she had an ear infection too. That would explain why she was such a handful and not listening the day before. They both were started on amoxicillin.

Thursday Raegan was back to her sweet, well behaved self. It was such a relief that she wasn't starting in on a new phase of terrible behavior and not listening, it was just her ears.

Friday Ryan comes home from work early with the flu, and was in bed pretty much until Sunday. I made him sleep on the couch though! Thankfully he wasn't too bad and it was pretty mild, the worst of it Friday night. Both of the kids got flu shots so hopefully the dont get it and neither do I.

I had to take B back to the doctor today to get his ears rechecked. They are still infected but getting better. Hopefully we are all on the mend and over illness' for a while.

Chiropractor update!

Baylor has been going to the Chiropractor since the end of October for his reflux issues. Dr. Nancy has been a saving grace! She has saved my sanity and has allowed me to enjoy my baby again! They have done 3 rolling thermal scans of B's neck. You want a 1 or below to be great. 2 is borderline and 3 and above is not good.

Oct 26- C1 - 0.9 (good!)
             C2- 4.3 (BAD!)
             C3 and C4- 1.6 (pretty good!)

Nov 19- C1 - 5.5 (VERY BAD!)
              C2- 4.2 (BAD!)

Jan 2- C1- 0.4 (GREAT!)
           C2- 1.8 (pretty good!)

We are don't go back for a month, we were going weekly, and see if he has stayed in line. He was also having some constipation issues that Dr. Nancy took care of as well. I am so heartbroken that I waited 2 months once I heard about chiropractors helping for reflux to call and get him in. He was so miserable and had a very rough start to his life but he is now that happiest and best baby ever. He doesn't fight sleep, enjoys car rides, falls asleep in his crib on his own. Night time sleep is getting better, he is crawling and pulling up, and just happy and healthy! Now time can slow down and I don't wish his "baby hood" away and I can truly enjoy what an amazing little boy he is! Let's just hope that as he grows he stays sweet to his mama!

Night time potty training success!!

I never thought this time would come, ever! I thought Raegan would be in pull ups at night until she was 12. No joke. Some nights she went through 2 night time pull ups. She sleeps so deep that peeing would not wake her up. Her brother screaming his head off right next to her does not wake her up (knock on wood!) But after 3 rounds of foliculitis since July I decided we needed to try and get her out of pull ups and into panties at night and see if it helps at all. The foliculitis starts on her bum and then spreads down her legs. They look like zits, some pus filled, and itch and hurt. So she started her antibiotic to get rid of it and all day I was telling her that she needed to wear panties to bed and she was on board for it.

We really had to limit the amount she drinks in the evenings to help us with the process. When its bedtime she brushes her teeth, goes potty then goes to bed between 730-8pm. When Ryan and I go to bed around 10-11pm, one of us gets her out of bed and takes her to go potty then puts her back into bed. The first night we decided to try we said whenever Baylor got up we would take her to go potty. Well that back fired because he slept through the night that night! So night two Baylor woke up around 230 and Ryan took her potty and then again at 7 when he was leaving for work. She stayed dry and was so excited! And even after taking her potty at 7am she went back to bed for another hour! Granted we helped her by getting her up but it was a step in the right direction. It has been 2-3 weeks and she has only had 2 accidents which is amazing! I am so proud of her!

Christmas and New Years!

Whew! That was a busy week! We started off by going to Bloomington on the 22 for a Christmas family with our good family friends. It was a great time and it's crazy that our families have grown up together and now all of us girls have our own kids who get to grow up together! We then went out to the lake for Christmas with my dad. I was so surprised when I got a sewing machine, I wasn't expecting it at all and I can't wait to use it and start making things! Raegan's big hit was her tutu and fairy wings and Baylor loves his pillow like soccer ball and really neat Ikea portable nightlight. Oh yeah, and Ryan, forgot about him! He is pumped about his Lowes giftcards for a new ladder!

Sunday morning we got up and headed to Evansville on the new I-69! It was so great! Much faster and easier! It's been a long time coming! As soon as we got to Evansville we went straight to Pizza King for Stroms! Baylor probably had the worst night ever sleeping while we were at the lake and was up every hour or two. So after lunch he and I took a nice long nap. Once we woke up from our nap Ryan said he wasn't feeling well and was having tummy issues. He went to take a nap then and woke up nauseous and puked twice right before dinner. He couldn't eat dinner and was feeling miserable. I sent him to a hotel for the night. Since we were staying at my Grandma's we had to share a room with both kids who would most likely end up in bed with us and I couldn't take the chance of them being sick on Christmas.

So while he is in a hotel sleeping, relaxing, taking about 19 hot showers, and watching whatever he wants on TV, and a free continental breakfast (along with going #2 and puking!) I was dealing with two kids in a house that is not baby proof and has tons of Christmas decorations everywhere. Not fun. Luckily they both went to bed pretty easy and we all got a good night sleep.

Ryan came back from the hotel on Christmas Eve morning. By this point I am starting to not feel so great but I kept telling myself mind over matter. My sister and her husband who both had the tummy bug a few weeks prior kept telling me that once you start feeling yucky it hits you about 30 min later. As the day went on I just knew it was coming. Ryan spent the afternoon in bed sleeping, even though he wasn't puking anymore he was just exhausted and sore. Raegan made cookies for Santa with my sister, I showered, ate dinner and got ready for church. Ryan ate some soup and had the energy to make it to church with us. Once we got to church I didn't know if I was going to make it through, but I did. We got in the car and I asked for a puke bag. Ah the flash back of being pregnant. I was able to make it back to my grandmas but then puked twice as soon as we got there. I didn't want to spend another $100 for a night at the Hampton Inn so I slept on the couch and Ryan was upstairs with the kids. Thankfully I only puked once more and never had any of the #2 issues like Ryan did.

Christmas morning we had to wake Raegan up after Baylor and Mady woke up for presents. I wasn't feeling sick but just tired and run down. We had a great Christmas with my Grandma. The kids got a lot of great gifts. They must have been very good this year because Santa spoiled them! Raegan's favorite presents were her Disney Princess Ballerinas and Princess tent castle. Baylor liked the wrapping paper!

After we were done opening presents we watched the Disney parade and I took a short nap. Baylor took a long nap and we had a delicious lunch, or dinner as my Grandma calls it. After watching the weather reports we decided we needed to leave Evansville that night and get back home. There was a blizzard warning out and up to a foot of snow predicted. Ryan didn't have his work computer with him and didn't want to get snowed in in Evansville.

After Baylor woke up we finished packing and then headed up to Newburgh for Christmas with my other Grandma and my dads family. More yummy food and lots of laughs, we had a great time. Raegan had so much fun playing with her cousins. Minus her epic tantrum, one like she has never ever had before, over sharing her princess ballerinas. We did a white elephant and scored a bottle of Apple Pie Moonshine that is delish! We ran back to Grandma M's house to load the car and say our goodbye and headed north on I-69 and made it home in a record time of just under 3 hours!!! It is usually 4+ hours so that is amazing, especially because we were racing the snow!

We woke up expecting a winter wonderland but it had just started snowing. So I sent Ryan to the grocery store for some food because we didn't have anything. By the time he was headed home it was white out conditions. We ended up with 7-9" and Raegan had a blast playing in it, building snowmen and throwing snowballs.

A few days later another snowstorm came that dumped another 6 or so inches. I love it! Last winter was such a disappointment with the lack of snow. If its cold it better snow! And so far it has!

We have the best NYE tradition ever, ever! The kids go to the lake and we are kid free for the night. We met my dad on the southside of town and gave him the kids and went our separate ways! We ate dinner at home and then went to a movie. We had not been to a non kid movie with a kid in what seems like years. It was a really funny movie but man I wasn't use to be up that late. We actually stayed up until midnight and then slept in until 1030! HELLO AMAZING! I need it to be NYE every month! It has quickly become my favorite holiday and I am already counting down until next year! The kids (well Raegan) had a great time. She has so much fun with her cousins and loves being at the lake!

2012 ended great and 2013 has started off on a great foot... Can't wait to see what this year has in store for the Hahaj's!

First tooth

Man, I wasn't expect that blog title yet. A tooth? Already? Baylor cut his first tooth on December 9, just 2 days shy of 7 months. Big sister didn't get her first tooth until 2 weeks before her first birthday. I honestly was expecting close to the same from him. So it was a big surprise when I felt that sucker in there. He wasn't really drooling (no bib needed) wasn't super fussy,

eating fine, sleeping normal, no fever, no nasty poo, just a little rash on his bum and a little bump on his gum. About a week after it started cutting through he got the nasty poo's, slight fever and runny nose. The same as big sister. We have given him teething pellets a few times, usually before eating or sleeping but otherwise it's been no big deal. I just can't believe he already has a tooth! No signs of another one as of now!

And he's off......

Baylor started crawling on November 30. Yes, November 30, at only 6.5 months. He was getting around doing the worm and army crawling. But suddenly it just clicked and he got his form down and never looked back. Not long after he started pulling up. Raegan was the exact same almost to the day. She was walking my 9.5 months and I expect the same from him. Future all star athletes in the Hahaj house I tell ya!

My little ballerina!

Last spring and summer Raegan was taking gymnastic. She just wasn't enjoying it anymore. I had to drag her out of the house to class. Once her summer session was up we decided to not re-enroll her. She said she wanted to take ballet class instead. Ugh. I dreaded hearing those words. Ballet class. I am a soccer mom, not a dance mom. Yes, I love dressing her in dresses, skirts, tutu's and big bows but I do not want to go to dance recitals instead of soccer games. I don't want to carpool a bunch of hairsprayed, glittery, lipstick and tutu wearing kids. I want to carpool stinky, sweaty, muddy soccer girls! I told Raegan she could start ballet class during the next session of class which started at the end of October (about 6 weeks away at this time.) One Tuesday afternoon I went to pick her up from school and she was crying and so upset. I have never picked her up and not have her be happy and loving school. Her teacher told me that 2 of the little girls in her class got picked up early for ballet class. The changed into their tutu's and leotards before leaving. Raegan saw it and was so upset because she wanted to go too. Same thing happened the following Tuesday. So I gave in a called the dance studio to see if I could get her enrolled late to the current class. They said no problem and she started the next day.

We did 2 ballet sessions and one Broadway Baby class this fall and early winter. Parents have the option to leave or we can stay out in the hallway and watch through windows. How is my baby already old enough to be dropped off for activities? I stay and watch... I am "that mom."

Broadway Babies is a 6 week class where the kids do songs and dance with props. Last session was The Wizard of Oz. She sang and danced to Somewhere over the Rainbow, Lollipop Guild, and Follow the Yellow Brick Road. It was really cute but she was pretty shy in class and didn't really perform at the Parent Show at the end of the 6 weeks. I wasn't going to sign her up again but this session is Beauty and the Beast. That is one of her favorite movies and she will be able to wear her Belle dress so hopefully she will be a Broadway star that class. Because lord knows, all she does is sing and dance at home. She can be the next Britney Spears minus the breakdown of 2006, and marrying K-Fed!

During Ballet class the girls learn the ballet poses but not all of their dances are ballet. The do some fun dances to fun songs. She loves it. It is actually really cute to see 10 or so girls dressed up and learning these dances. We didn't have any classes during the Holidays so she is ready to get back to school and dance classes next week! Not gonna lie, I'm ready for it too!

My 28th (gasp) birthday!

My birthday was almost 2 months ago now. It was a great day. Normally, I wouldn't write about myself. But Raegan was so cute that day that I decided to blog it so that I remember it.

My birthday was on a Thursday. Ryan took the day off work and got up with the kids while I slept in a little bit. Raegan had school that day so I told Ryan he needed to make her lunch and told him what he needed to make. From upstairs all I could hear was Baylor crying, and crying, and crying. I went downstairs and poor Daddy was all stressed out. He was ready to throw in the towel and go to the office! It was 8:30am, the kids hadn't even been up an hour yet. I get Raegan ready for school, we drop her off and then go out to breakfast. We went to a new to us place and it was delicious. We ran a few errands while our cleaning ladies were at the house and then headed home once they were done. Ryan made me an appointment at a spa in Carmel that afternoon. I headed off for my pampering and he went to pick up R from school.

After school Ryan took both kids to Target by himself, which I think is a first, to buy my present from the kids and card. Raegan took her purse with her money in it and went shopping! She picking out a hilarious card that sings something about being a hamburger and it being my birthday. She loves it. She still plays with it. Then she picked out a package of winter Oreo's for me! Does the girl know me or what?! She took them to the register and paid for them herself. So sweet of her. I love this story.

Ryan and Baylor got me a diamond and emerald (Baylor's birthstone and the month we were married) ring and pearl earrings. For my birthday after R was born I got a ruby and diamond ring with two diamonds bands since Raegan and Ryan's birthdays are both in July. I was not expecting the ring at all. It was a total surprise and I love it. I wear my ruby ring every day and the emerald for special occasions.

I just love that Raegan took her purse to Target, picked out the card and oreos and bought them herself. She is growing up into such a sweet, little girl! I just hope she stays that way!

I'm always almost 2 months behind...

Maybe once I am done pumping I will have more time to blog. I spend around 3 hours a day pumping. I unfortunately do not have a hands free pump so doing anything while pumping is very difficult. I can browse on my phone and iPad but it is challenging to use the computer. But I need to be better about blogging (add that to my resolution list) so I will attempt to blog and pump. Here goes...
