It wont be like this for long

Raegan is already 4 months old! I can’t believe how fast time is going by and how much she is changing and growing everyday.

Her stats:

Birth- 6 lb 13oz 20 ½ inches long

Left hospital- 6 lb 11oz! The doctors were very happy that she only lost 2 ounces in the hospital especially since she is an exclusively breastfed baby!

1 week- 7 lb 6 oz

2 weeks- 8 lb 10 oz

1 month-10 lb 8 oz 21 ½ inches

2 months-12 lbs 6 oz 23 ¾ inches

4 months- 14 lbs 13 oz 25 ¼ inches

Raegan is a very happy and healthy baby. She loves to sleep just like her parents which is awesome. Knock on wood but I have not had a sleepless night yet. When she a newborn she only woke up 2 maybe 3 times at the most during the night. She would wake up, eat and fall right back to sleep. Around 6 weeks she was only waking up once around 4am to eat and fall back asleep. She started sleeping through the night 7pm to 7am at 10 weeks!!!! Every once in a while she will wake up around 5am to eat, fall back asleep 10 minutes later and wake back up around 9am. We average 10-14 hours of sleep at night!!! How can you not love this child?!?!

On Novemeber 11 Raegan rolled over (back to belly) for the first time. She was 3 ½ months old. She only does it every once in a while because she probably knows she will end up on her tummy and she HATES being on her tummy!

She has started to sit up on her own and is starting the long, miserable teething process. She now wears a bib at almost all times because all she does is drools and she loves blowing bubbles. Raegan is doing an awful lot of babbling these days and Ryan is ready for her to start saying dada! But then again he is ready for her to be walking and running around and be able to play with him. If it’s up to him she will be throwing a spiral by the time she’s 2. She loves her jumparoo and is very active and strong. She loves to stand up on your lap and doesn’t want to be held like a baby. Her absolutely favorite thing in the world right now (besides her mom of course) is the animals, especially Isabelle. She watches them every where they go and smiles every time she sees them. We can’t wait for her to be old enough to take care of them!

At her 4 month checkup on December 1, she got 3 vaccines. 1 oral and 2 shots. She did great! She didn’t even cry. She kind of looked at me like ouch mom that hurt but didn’t make more than a peep. She was smiley and playful all afternoon until about 6pm. She started running a fever and was just crying non-stop, unless she was with the dogs! We finally got to sleep around 11pm and she slept the rest of the night but woke up the next morning not feeling well. She had a 102.7 fever all afternoon and was so fussy. I gave her some Tylenol and rocked her for hours and her fever was down to 101 at bedtime. Poor baby. She is feeling much better today!!!

I told her pediatrician what a terrible napper she is. I shouldn’t complain since she sleeps so well at night but it takes an hour to get her to fall asleep because she would fight it so bad and then she would only sleep for about 30 minutes, 3 times a day, and she was eating every hour to maybe 3 hours at the longest during the day, and wouldn’t eat more than about 3 or 4oz at a time. It was killing me so her pedi recommended starting her on rice cereal. The past 2 days have been great as far as feedings and naps go. She is now eating around every 3-4 hours and is taking hour to two hour naps, right now she is almost to 3 hours and does not fight it! WOOHOO!!!! But of course I am sitting here blogging instead of cleaning the house, sorry Ryan, priorities! So this has you up to date on the world of Raegan! Lets see how good I am about keeping up with it!!

Raegan Lynn's early and easy arrival!

Raegan was due on Monday August 3, 2009. But she was so excited she didn’t want to wait that long. On July 30, 2009 I woke up around 7am when Ryan’s alarm was going off and realized I was having contractions. I started timing them and Ryan left for work. No more than 2 minutes after he left the house I noticed I was bleeding, called him and told him he needed to come home. I called the doctors office and they said to come into the office and get checked. We got to the office around 9:30am and I was at 4cm and the doctor said today is the day! We checked into the hospital at 11am with our game faces on! I was having some mild contractions that were about 4-5 minutes apart but nothing serious and honestly not even that noticeable. If I wouldn’t have been bleeding I would have gone to work that day not knowing I was in labor. At 3pm contractions weren’t getting any closer or stronger so I was started on Pitocin. Things started getting serious that that point. I wanted to hold off on the epidural as long as possible because of my fear of needles. The pain was going to have to become unbearable before I asked for it. At 6pm they broke my water, I was 8cm and asking for the epi shortly after! And it was AMAZING!!! I probably could have done it without it but I wanted to enjoy the process, and I did!! I started doing practice pushes around 9:45pm and Raegan arrived at 10:37pm, 6 pounds 13 ounces and 20 ½ inches long! The first words out of my mouth after she arrived was, “That was easy!” I couldn’t believe how easy it was. I had to push for 30 seconds every 3 minutes during a contraction for about 30 minutes and she was here! The nurses were great and the doctor barely made it into the room in time to catch her! Ryan was great throughout the whole process, except for when he made me laugh when I was getting the epidural… not cool! We stayed in the hospital for 48 hours and could not wait to get home. Raegan was a great sleeper from the beginning and she never cried I just wanted to be home in my own bed and not having nurses come in every 2 hours waking me up when my baby wasn’t even waking me up. We left the hospital Saturday night around 11pm in the rain and Ryan has never driven so slow in his life!

All because two people fell in love: 1 + 1 = 3

In July even though I was a happy newlywed I was over living in Ft. Wayne and wanted to move to Indy. Ryan loved his job so he told me if I could find a job we could move (thinking I wouldn’t find a job and we would stay in Ft. Wayne) He told me that on a Sunday on the way back from the lake. On Tuesday I was called for an interview at a gym in Indianapolis. I interviewed on Wednesday and Thursday and moved to Indy on Monday to start my new job! I got an apartment and a couple of weeks later Ryan, Isabelle, Cooper, and Oliver moved to Fishers! I love living in Fishers and don’t want to move out of this area for a long, long time! The fall of 2008 Ryan and I started talking about starting our family, thinking it would take a while. Ok, maybe I was doing all the talking and he was doing all the eye rolling. But what can I say, when I want something I get it!

November 25, 2008 we found out we were going to be parents! Scary! In December we decided to move into a house so we had more room for our little bundle of joy! I had the worst morning sickness, more like 24 hour sickness you could ever imagine. It was like a 3 month hangover from December until almost March. I couldn’t eat anything, I was throwing up 20 times a day and losing weight. Finally with some good meds and my first trimester coming to an end I got over the morning sickness and started enjoying being pregnant.

March 11, 2009- 19 weeks, IT’S A GIRL!!!!!!!!! Of course we didn’t have a girls name picked out that we could agree on, no Ryan we are not naming our daughter the same name as an ex girlfriend! I made a list of names to choose from, we didn’t agree on any. His first pick was my fourth pick. My favorite was his least favorite. We narrowed it down to 2, Reese and Raegan. I wanted Reese, he wanted Raegan. We asked our families, and let our animals vote (based on which treat they ran to first) and we decided on Raegan. I was unsure of the name for a long time. I loved the fact that Raegan (spelled differently) means “Little King” where Ryan means “King” and she is definitely daddy’s little girl!! I couldn’t imagine a more perfect name for her!!

4 years ago today...

Here goes my first attempt at blogging. I wish we would have started this a long time ago so everyone could have followed what’s going on in Raegan’s world from the beginning but I guess I will do my best to catch everyone up to speed!

4 YEARS AGO TODAY was the start of my happily ever after.

Let’s rewind 6 years to the fall of 2003 when Ryan and I first met. The first time I ever heard of him was because my roommate freshman year had a “crush” on him! She came back to the dorms one night and was going on and on about him. She pulled up his BSU football profile and asked me what I thought of him! I will never forget it but I told her he looked a little too nerdy for my liking with his glasses and spiky hair! But she really liked him so she gave me his AIM screen name to talk to him for her. HA needless to say we never talked about her! Finally a couple of months later after talking quite a bit on AIM we met in person at the LaFollette Dining Hall. He was there with his team for training tables and a couple of my teammates and I were there for dinner after practice. Icing bags on my knees and all, Ryan and a couple of other guys came over to talk to us. We hung out quite a bit the rest of the school year. His house, knows as 1402, was the party house! Great memories at that house! My sophomore year 2 teammates and I moved into a house behind 1402, known as 1305! We had so much fun being neighbors. My sophomore year was a great year until the spring rolled around. Anytime I needed anything Ryan was always there. In May of 2005 my mom passed away from Cancer. I was at home with my family and I called my roommates back in Muncie to let them know what had happened. Edwina asked me if she could do anything for me, I told her to call Hahaj and let him know. Ryan and I were just friends and I was actually dating someone else at the time but for some unknown reason to me at the time all I needed was Ryan. He was such a great friend to me over the summer, always just a phone call or instant message away. Returning to BSU that fall to start my junior year was hard. Thankfully, I had soccer and great friends to keep my mind on the right track. That fall Ryan and I hung out quite a bit. But I was living the dream and having a great time being single.

On December 3, 2005 Ryan called me early in the afternoon and asked if I would go with him to his friends’ annual cocktail party at Purdue. I was hesitant to go but I called a friend at Purdue to see if she would go to the party too and she said yes, so I told Ryan I would go with him! I had to borrow a dress from a teammate because as everyone knows I did not own a dress, let alone have a dress with me at college! My life changed forever that night. After returning back to BSU after a great weekend at Purdue all I could think about was Hahaj. Christmas break was coming and he was graduating in a couple of weeks and moving to Chicago for a job so I never thought things would get serious between us, but I was wrong, very wrong! And for once I am happy that I was wrong. What can I say though, how could he not fall in love with me?! He’s a lucky guy!

Even though Ryan was working long, hard hours in Chicago and I was playing soccer at BSU he still drove back and forth between Chitown and FUNcie almost EVERY single weekend for 10 months before he finally moved back to Ft. Wayne. Ok, so maybe I’m the lucky one! After I graduated in May I moved to Ft. Wayne, we got our “first baby” Isabelle and then her baby brother Cooper and we got engaged July 22, 2007.

I stuck the ‘ol ball and chain on him on May 30, 2008 in Atlantic Beach, North Carolina and now he is stuck with me forever. HAHAHAHA sucker!
