Raegan Lynn's early and easy arrival!

Raegan was due on Monday August 3, 2009. But she was so excited she didn’t want to wait that long. On July 30, 2009 I woke up around 7am when Ryan’s alarm was going off and realized I was having contractions. I started timing them and Ryan left for work. No more than 2 minutes after he left the house I noticed I was bleeding, called him and told him he needed to come home. I called the doctors office and they said to come into the office and get checked. We got to the office around 9:30am and I was at 4cm and the doctor said today is the day! We checked into the hospital at 11am with our game faces on! I was having some mild contractions that were about 4-5 minutes apart but nothing serious and honestly not even that noticeable. If I wouldn’t have been bleeding I would have gone to work that day not knowing I was in labor. At 3pm contractions weren’t getting any closer or stronger so I was started on Pitocin. Things started getting serious that that point. I wanted to hold off on the epidural as long as possible because of my fear of needles. The pain was going to have to become unbearable before I asked for it. At 6pm they broke my water, I was 8cm and asking for the epi shortly after! And it was AMAZING!!! I probably could have done it without it but I wanted to enjoy the process, and I did!! I started doing practice pushes around 9:45pm and Raegan arrived at 10:37pm, 6 pounds 13 ounces and 20 ½ inches long! The first words out of my mouth after she arrived was, “That was easy!” I couldn’t believe how easy it was. I had to push for 30 seconds every 3 minutes during a contraction for about 30 minutes and she was here! The nurses were great and the doctor barely made it into the room in time to catch her! Ryan was great throughout the whole process, except for when he made me laugh when I was getting the epidural… not cool! We stayed in the hospital for 48 hours and could not wait to get home. Raegan was a great sleeper from the beginning and she never cried I just wanted to be home in my own bed and not having nurses come in every 2 hours waking me up when my baby wasn’t even waking me up. We left the hospital Saturday night around 11pm in the rain and Ryan has never driven so slow in his life!
