Back in July, yes I know it is September now, we went to Pentwater, Michigan. I had never been to Lake Michigan and Ryan hadn't been since he was around Raegan's age and it was a very traumatizing trip for him! He about drowned in the Lake and there are pictures to prove it! Poor kid! We stopped in South Bend on the way up to spend time with Ryan's brother and his family. They just bought a big house on a little lake/big pond. The kids had a great time swimming, fishing and playing together. Sunday morning we got up and drove the rest of the way up to Pentwater.
Lake Michigan is beautiful. Amazing. It is like being in North Carolina or Florida but without the salt water which is great for the kids! Raegan had so much fun with her cousins. Fun was had by all, great company, great food, great weather! The beach was just across the street from the house, but the house is in the woods. It's the best of both worlds up there. One of the highlights was feeding the deer after dinner! Raegan loved it! A big thanks to my dad and Becky for letting us come up for the week! Can't wait to do it again.
On the way home from Michigan we went to Fort Wayne. Ryan and I went on our first date since March and even though we were only gone for about 2 hours it was nice to get away.
Raegan had what looked like two little bites on her bum the day before we left Michigan. I figured it was a little irritation from the sand in her suit and it would go away. By the time we got to Fort Wayne it had spread all over her bum and started going down her legs. The spots looked like little pimples and she said they hurt, didn't itch. Dr. Google was no help but what is helpful is having a best friend as a pediatrician. Unfortunately, she lives in Louisville so I had to send her a picture of it but she knew right away what it was! Yay! Monday morning rolled around and I got her in to see her pediatrician who confirmed Dr. Lindsay's diagnoses of Foliculitis and she had to do a round of antibiotics and was all better!
After we got home from Michigan, Ryan was over my Jeep Commander. The A/C had to be recharged and it just felt like it was 2 seconds away from something major mechanically happening. Ryan wasn't really comfortable with the kids and I driving it anymore and he felt like we needed to start looking at a new car for me. It was a pain to get the kids in and out of it and the ride wasn't all that comfortable, not to mention it was a gas hog! I really wanted a GMC Yukon but those are a little more than I was wanting to spend on a new car. Hopefully in a few years one will be mine though! Instead we went with the GMC Acadia. We knew we wanted a tri coat diamond white one so we looked all over central Indiana at the dealerships and thankfully the best deal with just a few minutes from our house. After test driving 2 white ones they had on the lot with cashmere interior and 2nd row bucket seats we picked the one with the dual sunroof's intead of the dvd player. We have portable headrest dvd players we could use for roadtrips and I really wanted a sun roof. My jeep didn't have one and I really wished it did. The kids also have a sky light over there seat! We traded my Jeep in and bought the Acadia. We all love it and are so happy with it!
