NORTH CAROLINA TRIP!

FINALLY! The trip is planned and booked! Atlantic Beach, North Carolina watch out, The Hahaj's are coming May 7-14.

Growing up my family went to Atlantic Beach every summer for 2 weeks in June. My Great Aunt Karen and Great Uncle Chuck (my grandma's younger brother) had a beach condo there and then a house on a golf course inland in Morehead City. It was always my favorite place to go. I love it! So naturally, when it was time to start planning our wedding I wanted a beach wedding at Atlantic Beach. It took some convincing but I finally talked Ryan into doing a destination wedding. We decided to rent a 7 bedroom BEAUTIFUL beach house to have the wedding at. It was perfect. The wedding would be on the beach outside of the house and then the reception around the pool area. The house was also big enough if we needed to have the wedding inside due to rain. The only down side to the house was that Ryan and I didn't get to stay there. We rented 3 condo's just down from the Ocean Splendor wedding house for our wedding party and friends to stay at. Our families stayed at Ocean Splendor.

Ever since our wedding we keep talking about wanting to go back. We talked about it last summer but I was still breastfeeding so we didn't want to go without bug but didn't really want to go on a beach vacation with a baby. We talked to Ryan's parents over Christmas and they said they wanted to go back this summer! So we started to plan. We needed 6 families/couples to be able to stay at Ocean Splendor in May without breaking the bank. We tried getting some friends to go but none of them were able to go in May and later in the summer is too expensive. So, it was down to 3 families. Us, my in-laws, and my sister in law. 3 families at Ocean Splendor was way too expensive so I started looking into other beach house rentals and I found Bay Tree. Looking at it wasn't love at first site like Ocean Splendor was. But it was close. It looks a lot like Ocean Splendor but 5 bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms, no movie theater and no game room or exercise room. But all the bedrooms are king or queen beds, the bathrooms are beautiful, huge kitchen and a pool right on the beach and only TWO houses down from Ocean Splendor! PERFECT! So we called the family to tell them about the house we found and emailed them the information. They loved it! Much more affordable and just what we needed! We then got a hold of Ryan's brother Chris and asked if he and his family wanted to go too. They were in so we booked it for the second week of May! I am so excited. We plan on taking the kids to the Pine Knoll Shores Aquarium and maybe check out Fort Macon as well. We are all really excited for the food too. We are most excited for Big Oak Drive In! They catered our reception and we eat there at least once a day while down there. They have the best North Carolina style BBQ!

I have contacted the guy that took our wedding pictures to see about doing family pictures on the beach while we are down there. It will be so much fun!
Hopefully this will be the start of a Hahaj Family Annual Vacation!

Now the countdown to a bikini ready beach body begins... yesterday!
