A couple of weeks ago I was talking to my neighbor Abbey who has a daughter, Ella, the same age as Raegan. I was telling her how I wanted to start Raegan in gymnastics and asked if her and Ella were interested in it as well. She said yes and knew of a place we could take the girls. Last week they had their first class. They wore the most adorable little leotards and were so cute out there. The class only had 4 girls in it, so it was nice that they got lots of attention and practice.
Class started off in the preschool room where they did some stretching. They then jumped right in and went through a circuit of activities. She got to do a "cartwheel," jump over some mats, swing from the bar, backwards and forwards somersault, balance beam and super woman's! After they went through the circuit a couple of times they got to go out into the big gym and do the big bars. And of course class ended with a stamp and suckers so she was in love.
The rest of the day and the next she was doing somersaults and super woman's all over the house. She would also swing from the bar on the treadmill. The entire next day she kept asking to go back to "nastics" We have a couple more sessions on Thursday mornings and then in April we are switching to a Monday night class so that daddy can go to some classes too, especially after brother makes his appearance in May. The best part about it is that its not a mommy and me class so I actually get to sit and watch and don't have to participate!
